A pre-MOT inspection is there if you ask for one — a paid service — and a car booked in for a service at the same time is inspected as part of that service. Should it fail on the day, we repair the failure items once you have approved the work and take it back for the re-test.
The MOT itself happens at our partner test centre. Our part is everything around it: handling the trip to the centre for you, inspecting the car beforehand when you want that, and fixing any failure items in our Paralimni workshop once you have agreed to the work.
In Cyprus the MOT (Τεχνικός Έλεγχος) is an inspection of roadworthiness and emissions, not a service. If you want these areas looked at before the test, ask for a pre-MOT inspection: that way a weak emissions result or a tired brake shows up on our ramp rather than in the test lane.

Headlight aim and every lamp on the car — dipped and main beam, brake, indicator, fog, reverse and number-plate lights — along with the hazard switch and the horn. Small items, and an easy way to fail.
The emissions test reads the exhaust gases on a petrol car and the smoke opacity on a diesel. A diesel whose particulate filter is cracked or damaged, or any engine with a faulty sensor, can fail here while still driving well — our DPF cleaning service explains the filter side.

Free play in the steering, ball joints, bushes, dampers and springs, checked with the wheels both loaded and hanging free.
Corrosion in structural areas, the fuel and exhaust systems underneath, seatbelts and their mountings, mirrors, doors, wipers and washers.
If a warning light is on before the test, tell us when you book: we connect a scan tool and find the cause instead of clearing the code and hoping it stays away. When the fault sits in the wiring or a control unit, it goes through our auto-electrical diagnostics.
A private car's first MOT falls due four years after the date it was first registered. From then on, the test comes round every two years.

If you want a pre-MOT inspection, booking it a few weeks ahead of the due date leaves room for any parts that have to be ordered.

A pre-MOT inspection, if you ask for one, is a paid service — ask us for the price. When an inspection you asked for finds nothing wrong, you hear exactly that, and the car goes for its test as it is.
Inspections and repairs are led by Anninos Vrachimis, our lead diagnostic technician. He holds a BEng and an MEng in Automotive Engineering from Teesside, trained in Mercedes-Benz and BMW workshops, and works out of a 700 m² family garage that has been running since 1976.

No. We are a repair garage, not a test centre. You leave the car with us and we drive it to our partner MOT centre, where the test itself is carried out.

Anything an inspection finds that needs attention is photographed or filmed and sent to you on WhatsApp, together with a free written estimate.
We repair the items the centre recorded as failures, once you have approved the work, and take the car back for its re-test. No repair is carried out without your consent.

Courtesy cars are for customers who have booked major maintenance that keeps the car in the workshop for a long time. They are not offered for every job, so an MOT visit on its own does not come with one.
