Why book your MOT with us

Pass first time — because we check the car before the test does.

An MOT failure costs you a second trip, a re-test and days without the car. Our approach is simple: inspect first, repair what's needed with your written approval, then test. That's why drivers from across the Famagusta district bring their MOT to our Paralimni workshop instead of hoping for the best.

  • Pre-MOT inspection documented for you — photos & video sent to your WhatsApp before the test, so you see exactly what we see
  • Faults fixed in-house on 11 ramps — brakes, tyres, lights, suspension, emissions; no shuttling between garages
  • Free written estimate before any repair work — never an obligation
  • Open through lunch, 07:30–19:00 Monday to Friday — drop off on your way to work, collect on the way home
  • Courtesy drop-off & courtesy car — leave the keys with Despina at reception and get on with your day
  • Authorized Honda, Isuzu & Kia service centre for the Famagusta district — dealer-grade standards on every car we prepare

What the MOT covers in Cyprus

The test checks roadworthiness — here's what the inspector looks at.

In Cyprus, private cars take their first MOT (Τεχνικός Έλεγχος) four years after first registration and every two years after that. The test is a roadworthiness check — it confirms the car is safe and within emissions limits, not a full service. Our pre-MOT check mirrors these categories point by point.

Brakes

Braking performance and balance on the roller tester, pad and disc condition, handbrake efficiency, brake lines and hoses for leaks or corrosion.

Lights & signalling

Headlight aim and operation, brake lights, indicators, fog and reverse lights, hazard switch, horn — the single most common (and cheapest to fix) failure group.

Emissions

Exhaust gas analysis for petrol, smoke opacity for diesel. A clogged DPF or lazy sensor can fail an otherwise healthy car — we diagnose and fix both in-house.

Tyres & wheels

Tread depth, cuts, bulges and age cracking, matching sizes per axle, wheel condition and security. We supply and fit tyres on site.

Steering & suspension

Play in the steering, ball joints, bushes, shock absorbers and springs — checked on the ramp with the wheels free, exactly as the inspector does it.

Chassis & bodywork

Structural corrosion, seatbelts and anchorages, doors, mirrors, wipers and washers, fuel and exhaust systems, and the general condition underneath.

How it works

Three steps from WhatsApp message to MOT certificate.

Step 1

WhatsApp us the plate

Send your registration number and a preferred day to +357 96 350 642. Despina confirms your slot — usually within the same week — and arranges drop-off or free collection.

Step 2

Pre-MOT check & fixes

We inspect every MOT category on the ramp and send you photos and video on WhatsApp. Anything that would fail gets a free written estimate — you approve, we repair in-house.

Step 3

Test & certificate

We take the car through the MOT for you and hand back the keys with the certificate — plus a free exterior clean. Collection customers get the car delivered back to their door.

Straight talk on price

What does an MOT cost in Paralimni?

The official test fee is set by the state, not by us — it has been in the region of €35 depending on vehicle class, and is subject to pending legislative change, so we'll confirm the current fee when you book. What we control is everything around it: our pre-MOT check is quoted free, in writing, and any repair work is estimated in writing before we touch the car. No surprises at the counter, no work you didn't approve.

If the car needs nothing, we tell you it needs nothing. That honesty is how a family garage stays busy in the same town for fifty years.

Book your MOT slot this week

WhatsApp your number plate and preferred day. We'll confirm your slot, run the pre-MOT check, and get you through the test — with free collection & delivery island-wide if you need it.

MOT questions, answered

Frequently asked questions about the MOT in Paralimni.

How long does the MOT take?

The MOT test itself typically takes around 20–30 minutes at the test centre. With our pre-MOT check included, most cars are dropped off in the morning and collected the same day. If a repair needs parts we don't hold in stock, we tell you before we start and agree the timing in writing.

What happens if my car fails the MOT?

If a vehicle fails, the recorded faults must be corrected and the car re-examined. Because we fix everything in-house on our 11 ramps, we repair the failure items, take the car back for the re-test and return it to you with the certificate. Our pre-MOT inspection exists precisely so this rarely happens — we aim to catch failure items before the first test.

What do I need to bring for the MOT?

Bring the car with its registration document (title) and, if you have it, the previous MOT certificate. Plates must be legible and the car reasonably clean underneath — our free post-service exterior clean helps there too. If you use our collection service, just have the paperwork in the glovebox and we handle the rest.

What does the pre-MOT check include?

We inspect the items the MOT tests: brake performance and pad/disc condition, all lights and signalling, tyre tread and condition, emissions readiness, steering and suspension play, horn, wipers and washers, seatbelts, and chassis condition underneath. Everything is documented with photos and video sent to your WhatsApp, and anything that needs attention comes with a free written estimate — no obligation.

Can you handle the whole MOT process for me?

Yes. We collect the car — free collection and delivery island-wide — run the pre-MOT check, carry out only the repairs you approve in writing, book and attend the test, and deliver the car back with its certificate. Many customers in Ayia Napa, Protaras and across the Famagusta district never set foot in the workshop.
